New Build & Extensions

Our attention to detail is something we focus on whether working with the client, as a contractor or with an architect.

Case Study

New Orangery

The clients wanted an orangery with lots of light to collect the evening sun. Very large sliding patio doors combined with a large cupula, all powder coated aluminium, achieved this. The floor has electric underfloor heating. We created internal bi-fold doors to give access to the house which can be opened up to give flow from the house to the orangery.

Family Home Extension

This house needed extended as the family were growing out of the space. We extended out and created a round wall round the existing circular stairwell to bring the staircase into the middle of the house. The existing kitchen units were painted and a new island unit installed. New engineered walnut flooring was laid with underfloor heating. A vaulted ceiling was created to give height and depth.

Case Study

Sandyfield

This house was built on one level and has a flowing design which creates a wonderful roofline. Lots of windows create a light and spacious environment which gives the property a very spacious feel. Wherever you are in the house, irrespective of time of day there is a room which captures the sun.

Case Study

Starter's Hut at the Golf House Club

We demolished the existing timber shed and removed the periscope and ‘A’ frame which held the periscope in position. This was a tricky operation! We built two octagonal buildings connected by a flat roof structure. This was to complement the existing octagonal bay window of the Golf House Club. We were heavily involved in creating the structure to hold up the periscope which came up and through the roof structure without having an external ‘A’ frame as before.

Case Study

St. George's Lodge

We demolished the existing house and left the street facade intact. We then created a very modern three storey house in a one and a half storey building. With large powder coated aluminium sliding doors from the kitchen open up to provide a seamless transition into the garden. We incorporated a glass floor in the 1st floor to allow light from the skylight above to flow through into the kitchen below. The finishes are oak flooring with solid oak stairs, glass balustrades and plastered reveals to door frames and bottom of walls in lieu of skirtings and facings.

Case Study

Balcarres Bothy

This project took the traditional Bothy houses on one side of the large walled garden and turned them into bedrooms and bathrooms. On the other side we created a very contemporary area with large glass sliding doors maximising the views across the garden and creating one huge area giving a feeling of space. The roof covering was VM zinc which wrapped down at the 2 ends to give a very sleek look.

Case Study

10 Kirkpark Road

The existing house was demolished. This new house was constructed using concrete block inside and out with beam and block floors to give good sound deafening. The ground floor was designed to have bedrooms and bathrooms with the 1st floor all open plan with roofline taken up to the ridge with the exposed oak beams, a recessed balcony with sliding doors opening on to a south facing veranda.
